Production

Yes, Music Production & Audio Engineering is one of the most essential, high-demand programs for any modern music department or university.

As technology drives today's music industry, trained producers and engineers bridge the gap between creative artistry and technical execution. They shape the sound of commercial records, film scores, live broadcast feeds, virtual instruments, and gaming audio.

Welcome to Gh Conservatoire College: Department of Music Production & Audio Engineering

Our Department of Music Production & Audio Engineering is dedicated to shaping modern music producers, sound engineers, mixing/mastering engineers, and audio technology innovator.

This program merges artistic music creation, acoustic science, audio engineering, studio workflow, and digital media production. Students learn to take projects from concept, composition, and tracking through to mixing, mastering, and distribution across pop, hip-hop, gospel, film scoring, and electronic genres.

Through a globally benchmarked, 5-tier academic framework—spanning Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) in Music Production, Master of Music (M.Mus.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Audio Technology—we equip graduates to thrive in modern studios, media houses, and broadcast networks.

Program Philosophy & Educational Pillars

Our music production curriculum balances technical precision with creative vision. Each level centers on five core pillars:

  1. Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) & Sequencing: Mastery of industry-standard DAWs (Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase), MIDI sequencing, virtual instruments, and audio editing.

  2. Audio Engineering & Recording Techniques: Microphone selection and placement, signal flow, preamp selection, acoustic treatment, patch bays, and tracking live ensembles/vocalists.

  3. Mixing & Mastering Architecture: Dynamic processing (EQ, compression, gating), spatial effects (reverb, delay, spatial audio/Atmos), loudness standards, and mastering for streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music).

  4. Music Theory, Arranging & Beat-Making: Beat production, sampling, synth programming, vocal tuning (Auto-Tune/Melodyne), track layering, and song structure.

  5. Studio Business, IP & Audio Tech: Music licensing, copyright, producer contracts, royalty tracking, remote session workflow, and audio hardware/software maintenance.
